Once, when my middle brother (younger) CJ was typing up a resume for why he should be the one to work with the ecoservants children program he turned to me and said: "How do you say - I just love kids! Without sounding like a pedophile?"
And the more we thought about it, the more we realized how hard it was to shorten why we love kids without using that one phrase.
For me, I just honestly do! I like playing make believe games with them and dressing them up as princesses or secret agents. It's so much to find out what their art creations are supposed to be. I like seeing how much fun they have when they get a little messy as you make a healthy snack together. I enjoy building forts over and over for them within the same hour because they are imagining a cave-in. I love seeing their parents reactions when they come home to stories of all the things we did without watching tons of tv/videos, as well as if we'd done crafts, how they smile at knowing they have something else to keepsake.
If I'd had it my way, I'd have a job in a preschool because that's my favorite age group, newbies (month olds) to almost 5 years old. Not that I don't like them from 5-10, because I do, they're more talkative at times then, or at least capable of others things, but I don't like the idea of teaching several things, which is what a kindergarten teacher would have to do.
I know this because that's what my mother does, and not that I don't love and respect her, I do so much that she has no clue just how much, but I hear enough about it from her to know it's not for me. Too many rules you have to follow, not enough time for anything, always busy, some kids are just unmanageable, the government keeps cutting funds, some parents are just pure rude or terrible with their kids, and the list goes on!
I'd like to teach kids languages, because the younger the better
